Since Game of Thrones ended, George RR Martin’s fans have been eagerly awaiting news from HBO Max. As it doesn’t seem like The Winds of Winter will be finished anytime soon, they at least hope to continue with the story through the series. The House of the Dragon is leading the way, with a season that matched the numbers of the original series.

Now, we finally know when the second season of the series will be released. HBO has revealed, along with many other updates, when we’ll continue exploring the Targaryen history, and it’s sooner than many believed: summer 2024.

When is the second season of The House of the Dragon premiering

Even though it may seem like there’s still a long way to go until this date, considering the timelines of current series and factoring in the recent strikes that have rocked Hollywood, it’s clear that The House of the Dragon’s case hasn’t been as dramatic as many others. The series will arrive soon, and with it, we can continue to indulge our dragon spirit.

Furthermore, it hasn’t been the only news to come from the Game of Thrones world. We’ve also received updates about its new spin-off: The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. This series will begin filming in the spring, so it’s expected to arrive at some point between summer and the end of 2025.

Be that as it may, HBO is certainly doing everything it can to expand the universe of Game of Thrones and provide quality content to fans of Westeros and the writing of George RR Martin. Let’s hope, however, that they have a style more similar to the first seasons of the series than to the last ones.
