Many were surprised by the high graphic quality that oozed from Alan Wake 2 since its first trailers and announcements. But of course, looking this good comes at a cost, as seen with its minimum PC requirements. However, a new patch released by Remedy has managed to change this.
Thanks to a great optimization work, Remedy has managed to lower the requirements of Alan Wake 2 to run on PC. At the time, the sequel was launched without being fully compatible with NVIDIA’s GTX 10 series. Now, almost five months later, this new patch changes the requirements as follows:
Before, playing Alan Wake 2 required at least an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or an AMD Radeon RX 6600. Now, we only need to have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 or an AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT. And not only that: you can also play with even older graphics cards. The famous Digital Foundry channel conducted a test where it was proven that it was possible to play with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, reaching 27 FPS at 1080p.
