The developers of the cooperative horror game REPO have announced a significant change after receiving feedback from players during its recent open beta. According to the new adjustments, the overload mechanic, which penalizes players for grabbing monsters, will only activate after 10 levels of gameplay. This decision aligns with the tiered difficulty scheme that the developers have planned, where a new element will be introduced every 10 levels to complicate the gaming experience.
An update that is due to the help of the players
The developers thanked the gaming community for their participation and contributions during the testing phase, noting that this feedback is essential for improving the title. “A huge thank you for testing and letting us know about the bugs and your comments; it helps us a lot,” the creators stated in their announcement.
The open beta version of REPO is now available on Steam for a price of €9.75. This version includes highlighted features such as a new map, the mentioned overload mechanic, as well as a server region selector and various quality of life improvements that facilitate the process of hosting, joining, and playing. The incorporation of these adjustments could attract new players and enhance the overall experience, which is essential for a game looking to conquer its market.
In a humorous touch, the news also mentions a curious object available in the game: a ugly duckling that can be placed under a bucket, adding an element of fun to the dark context of the game. This type of light feature could help balance the tense atmosphere that REPO seeks to create.
