Since One Piece premiered a couple of weeks ago, fans have patiently awaited its renewal. It seemed like a no-brainer: the first season was a huge success, and it’s the first live-action adaptation of an anime from Hollywood that has received critical acclaim in a long time. Finally, the announcement has become a reality: One Piece will have a second season.

The announcement hasn’t come in just any way; it was delivered through a special video by Eiichiro Oda himself. The author, who no longer regularly shows his face, used his personal Den Den Mushi —a snail that is used as a phone, speaker, or communicator in the series— to make the announcement. First, he thanks everyone for watching the series, and second, he confirms the second season.

Chopper… and Crocodile?

The best part of the video is that Oda also takes the opportunity to draw a character who will appear in this second season, and whom One Piece fans have been eagerly awaiting: Chopper. The medical reindeer who is part of the crew appears in one of the future arcs of One Piece, and with this drawing, it’s confirmed that they will adapt it in the series.

But what will we exactly see in this new season? In the past, we made our speculations, and what is certain is that we will see Smoker (Loguetown) as the first enemy, then a journey to the Grand Line, and finally, Chopper on Drum Island. However, everything indicates that it won’t stop there, and we will also see Crocodile and his desert arc in Arabasta.

This is one of the best arcs in all of One Piece and a pivotal moment in the series. We’ve already had hints about what happens here in the first season, as Zoro is pursued by Baroque Works, the mafia led by Crocodile. So, it seems likely that we will also see this villain.
