We are getting closer and closer to returning to Silent Hill with James Sunderland. The highly anticipated remake of Silent Hill 2 has been officially included in the age rating system of South Korea. A sign that suggests that the game’s release is closer than ever.
As expected, the horror game would have received an adult rating, due to its “intense violence“, the graphic use of blood and the appearance of monsters with “strangely constructed limbs”. Thus, everything seems to indicate that the remake will be quite faithful to the original, at least in terms of being disturbing.
Developed by Bloober Team, Silent Hill 2 Remake was first announced in October 2022. Since then, we have known little about the game until its appearance in State of Play in February, where a combat trailer was presented.
However, that trailer did not make the expected impression. The criticism focused on the use of third-person combat, a “modernization” that many players perceived as unnecessary and not in line with the atmosphere of the Silent Hill franchise.
The generated discontent forced the president of Bloober Team to intervene to clarify that the trailer did not faithfully represent the actual game. Either way, the final word will be in the hands of the players, who, for now, will still have to wait for the announcement of the official release date.
