The Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian (Disney+) was one of the most epic Star Wars finales in recent memory. Luke appeared with a CGI rejuvenation and surprised fans of George Lucas’ saga as rarely before. However, with this ending there is something that remained unclear going forward: what would happen to Grogu?

Grogu, nicknamed Baby Yoda for being literally a baby version of the green Jedi, was the Mandalorian’s faithful companion during the first two seasons. Part of the fun of the series was, in fact, seeing how a rude man with no apparent feelings like Mando generated a beautiful relationship with the little boy. However, at the end of the series, Grogu was leaving with the rest of the Jedis to learn to control his Force, so it seemed that Mando’s next steps would be solo.

However, the trailer for Season 3 of The Mandalorian has made it clear that Grogu will once again be the protagonist. Not only have we seen him in almost all the announced footage, but he also does it together with his “Foster father”. That is, Mando and Grogu will team up again in this third season, and it also seems that the plot is going to be more interesting than ever.

Grogu learns to use the Force

In previous seasons of The Mandalorian, it was already abundantly clear that Grogu is a very effective user of the Force, something that apparently has to do with his species. Even so, it is in this new batch of chapters when it seems that we will see him learn to use the Force with skill, becoming a faithful ally in battle.

The series also promises to take a more linear narrative. Although before it was based on practically independent chapters, now it seems that the plot is going to be more important than ever, with great enemies to defeat and battles to fight alongside the Jedi.

We will have to wait until March 1, 2023 to see more about the most successful series in the Star Wars universe. Meanwhile, thanks to the trailer we can theorize about everything that can happen in the next chapters.
