There isn’t a single gamer who isn’t excited to play Starfield on September 1st… or September 6th. This will depend on whether they’ve purchased the Premium Edition or if, on the other hand, they’ve opted for the basic edition of the game / Game Pass subscription.
And as Bethesda and Xbox know that they have a lot at stake, aiming to demonstrate their competitiveness with PS5 this generation, the marketing team has decided to collaborate with Imagine Dragons, one of the trendiest music groups on the international scene.
Starfield is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and everyone will be able to see if it lives up to the expectations starting tomorrow. It’s expected to be a huge success and dominate all industry conversations… at least throughout September.
A song to convince us all
In recent years, fans have criticized Bethesda and Xbox’s marketing strategy for Starfield. It was announced in 2018, and we didn’t see anything of it until 2022 (if we overlook a cinematic trailer in 2021). Even then, after some gameplay in 2022, we still didn’t receive anything apart from a few developer updates until this summer.
But for the past month, Xbox has been working at full throttle to go all out. Just in this month alone, they’ve generated significant anticipation for the imminent release with early access, developer Q&A sessions, new trailers, pre-release review copies sent out weeks in advance, and much, much more.
Now, to celebrate the launch, Imagine Dragons has released a new song titled “Children of the Sky,” inspired by Starfield. Dan Reynolds, the lead singer of Imagine Dragons, has spoken about the song.
“Bethesda has created iconic games that we’ve been playing for most of our lives, and we feel honored to have collaborated on this song for Starfield. The song, like the game, raises some of the toughest questions we face as humans trying to find our place in the universe,” explains the band’s leader.
When can we play Starfield?
If you have reserved the regular edition of Starfield, you will be able to play starting from September 6th at 2:00 AM. In the case that you have reserved the Premium or Constellation editions, you will have the opportunity to enjoy an Early Access that allows you to play on September 1st at 2:00 AM.
But that’s not all. Starting today, August 31st, players who have pre-ordered the game on Xbox and Steam can preload the game onto their devices. This way, as soon as the clock strikes 2:00 AM on either September 1st or 6th, you can start playing the game without having to wait for it to download and install.
