The launch of the Apple Vision Pro is just around the corner. This coming Friday, the 19th, reservations for the device will open, which will officially arrive to the first buyers and stores (where we can try it) on Friday, February 2nd. Its arrival, however, is reserved for the United States and its international expansion lacks a confirmed date. And even so, we may be in for a pleasant surprise.

A possible arrival in May, but with several questions

In a rather unexpected turn of events, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed that Apple could launch its highly anticipated space computer, the Apple Vision Pro, in markets outside the United States before the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). This news, which has caused a stir among fans and industry professionals, represents a significant boost in the product’s launch strategy.

According to a report published by Kuo, Apple plans to introduce updates on visionOS, the operating system that will power Vision Pro, during WWDC 2024. To achieve a global impact and foster a “global development ecosystem” for visionOS, it is essential that the device is available in international markets before the event.

As far as we know, Apple’s decision to initially keep Vision Pro sales exclusive to the US was due to a combination of factors, including limited initial supply and the company’s desire to ensure a smooth sales process. Additionally, Apple wanted time to adapt the device’s software to the specific needs of other countries. However, once these issues are resolved, Kuo believes that the Vision Pro will be available in more countries.

If we follow Apple’s usual calendar, WWDC is held during the first week of June. This, in 2024, should mean that the opening keynote of the conference would be either on Monday, June 3rd or Monday, June 10th. Thus, allowing for some leeway, we could say that the arrival of the Vision Pro would be, at the latest, during the month of May.

We do not know which countries will receive the new device, but it is rumored that the United Kingdom, Canada, and China could be the next markets. Europe has not been explicitly mentioned, although it is usually among the first to receive the new waves of products and is a very important focus for application development. Thus, the Vision Pro may arrive much earlier than expected.
