The movie The Fantastic Four is progressing smoothly. After the different failures that Marvel Studios has suffered in recent years, the company is moving forward with a new adaptation of The First Family with a star-studded cast: Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (The Thing).
Now, a new character has just been added to the roster: Silver Surfer. The herald of Galactus will appear in the movie —hinting that Galactus will also make an appearance—, but it will be in a different way than we are used to. Instead of being Norrin Radd, the usual Silver Surfer that we all know, it will be Shalla-Bal, his female counterpart who is also common in the comics.

Shalla-Bal will be played by Julia Garner, an actress famous for roles in series like Ozark or Dirty John. Initially, Shalla-Bal was introduced as the love interest of Silver Surfer, but everything seems to indicate that we will have an alternative story in the MCU about this character. We’ll see what surprises they have in store for us.
