The Marvel Cinematic Universe is going through a very complex moment. Marvel Studios had a wonderful trajectory that for years made it clear that it was the reference of what a superhero universe should be. However, little by little this effect has been diluted, and 2023 was a total disaster compared to what they were used to.

So much so that 2024 has been a year practically on hold between releases, with only one movie and a couple of series planned. But in 2025 they will come back in style, seeking to recover their authenticity and with some very eye-catching releases on the horizon. And among all of them there is one more important than the others: The Fantastic Four.

When will The Fantastic Four be released?

The movie that will bring Marvel’s first family to reality —for the third time, if we consider Tim Story and Josh Trank’s films— will arrive in 2025, and it will do so with a date close to another great superhero release: James Gunn’s Superman Legacy. Specifically, the date chosen by Marvel Studios is July 26th.

Who will appear in The Fantastic Four?

The casting for The Fantastic Four has been much more complex than expected when we saw John Krasinski in the role of Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In fact, the lead actor from The Office will not appear. Instead, the lead actors are as follows:

Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (The Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (The Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (The Thing). There is no further confirmation at the moment, although it is hoped that the name of the villain Doctor Doom will be revealed at some point.

What will The Fantastic Four be about?

It is still early to know the plot of The Fantastic Four, but what we do know is that it will be set in the sixties. This means that we may see the protagonists only in their time period or that they may ultimately impact the temporality of the MCU. We will know soon.
