Google has announced that Gemini, its set of multimodal language models, now powers the new conversational experience of Google Ads, its advertising platform. Thanks to this new update, it will be easier for advertisers to quickly create and expand ad campaigns on Google search.

Bard ACCESS

This conversational experience is designed to help create search campaigns through a new chatbot. The tool uses the advertiser’s website URL to create search campaigns by generating relevant advertising content, including graphic resources and keywords.

The new conversational experience of Gemini suggests images adapted to the advertiser’s campaign using generative AI and images from their website. Google states that all images created with generative AI will be identified as such, and that advertisers can approve the images and text before launching the campaign.

Beta access to the conversational experience in Google Ads is now available to all English-speaking advertisers in the United States and the United Kingdom. In the coming weeks, the experience will be available globally to all English-speaking advertisers. Google plans to open access to other languages in the coming months.

“In recent months, we have been testing the conversational experience with a small group of advertisers,” says Google Ads Vice President and General Manager, Shashi Thakur, in a blog post on Google’s blog. “We have observed that it helps them create higher quality search campaigns with less effort.”

Bard ACCESS

This new conversational experience will join other Google tools for advertisers based on AI, such as Product Studio, a set of tools that allow sellers and advertisers to use text-to-image AI functions to create new product images for free just by writing a message describing what they would like to see.
