The Apple Vision Pro is expected to be a success. Out of the initial units, about 80,000, Apple has already sold more than double. This is estimated by Ming-Chi Kuo, a recognized Apple analyst, who states that the estimated figures during the first weekend of pre-orders reveal a resounding success (and only in the United States), although it also raises certain questions.

Over 170,000 units sold in the United States alone

From the moment pre-orders opened, the Vision Pro sold out immediately, confirming Kuo’s initial predictions about its popularity. It is estimated that Apple sold between 160,000 and 180,000 units of the Vision Pro in just the first weekend. The initial demand was so intense that shipping times for all models extended to 5-7 weeks within hours.

That being said, it is also true that in other major releases, shipping times tend to increase steadily after the opening of pre-orders, while in the case of Vision Pro, they remained relatively unchanged 48 hours after its opening. Without further data, as we must remember that Apple does not officially publish sales figures, this could be interpreted as a decrease in demand after the initial interest.

According to Kuo, Apple’s supply chain partners like Luxshare will work overtime during the Lunar New Year to meet demand. This is an indication of higher-than-expected demand and a warning of the need to improve efficiency in Vision Pro production.

The Apple Vision Pro has had an impressive start, selling twice as many units as expected in just two days. Now, as Fruit ninja arrives on the Vision Pro, we will have to wait for the launch and other estimates, although it is clear that the interest in the potential of Apple’s first space computer is higher than expected.
