For the past two days, we’ve been talking about the same topic, but it’s no surprise considering the magnitude of it. Elon Musk has made one of the most bizarre and controversial decisions in the history of social media. Users believe it’s one of the biggest mistakes ever.

Twitter has ceased to be Twitter and is now known as X. Yes, X is now the letter that serves as both the logo and the name of Elon Musk’s social media platform, marking the end of Twitter forever.

“X” is a term that Elon Musk has mentioned on multiple occasions as an “all-in-one app” that could combine social media, instant messaging, and payment services, similar to the popular Chinese app WeChat.

A copy of the Xbox logo?

Indeed, there are many people who believe that Elon Musk has not only been unoriginal but also a bit audacious in using the logo of the new Xbox console called Xbox Series X.

As can be seen in the tweet, the similarities are quite noticeable, although the Xbox logo is much more original, efficient, and organic compared to the new Twitter logo.

But it doesn’t end there; it is also worth noting that Elon Musk has rebranded his $44 billion social media platform with a logo for which the rights belong to the competition: Meta.

How much did the new Twitter logo cost Elon Musk?

According to information from ACE, the letter used in the representation of the brand would not be a unique design but rather the use of a font, meaning that they simply pressed a key to fill the background with a specific color, and that’s it.

According to this information, the logo matches the letter “X” in uppercase from the “Special Alphabets 4” font, which belongs to the “Special Alphabets” typographic family by Monotype.

Indeed, it is emphasized that this font is the cheapest version within the family, and they would have paid the modest amount of 32 euros for it.

Yes, a social network with a value of 44 billion dollars spent 32 euros to choose its new logo. It’s no wonder people find it hard to believe that Elon Musk is managing one of the best social networks up to 2022 in the worst way possible.
