The next game from Katamari Damacy creator, Keita Takahashi, is titled To a T and features a unique premise: it follows the life of a teenager named Teen, who finds himself in the strange position of T-pose, which is a default pose in 3D modeling. This peculiarity limits his mobility, as he cannot move his arms, resulting in a series of absurd and comedic situations in the game.
A child who for some reason is like a 3D model
To a T prioritizes fun and laughter, relegating the complexity of interactivity to the background. Takahashi has commented that players will encounter simple mechanics like brushing their teeth, where they simply have to press a button and spit out the water, which he describes as “stupid” and “lacking smart design”. The intention is for players to have more fun than to focus on the strength of the gameplay mechanics.
The release of To a T is scheduled for May 28 on Steam, Xbox, and PS5. During an interview at the FGS Live event of Gamescom LATAM, Takahashi expressed his excitement about the final moment of the game, anticipating that it will be both moving and absurd. Although more details are still unknown, the inclusion of a robot in the plot has been mentioned, adding a new level of curiosity to the title.
As the release date approaches, fans of Takahashi and those looking for a light and fun gaming experience are eagerly awaiting the premiere. Moreover, those who haven’t tried Takahashi’s previous titles, such as Katamari Reroll, can currently find it on sale on Steam. Expectations are high, and with the creator’s focus on comedy and joy, To a T promises to be a quirky title in the universe of video games.
