Little by little, Sony continues to improve the user experience of PlayStation 5. At the end of January, PS5 already received its first patch of this 2024. Now, Sony has announced the release of a new update in beta phase, whose main protagonist will be the DualSense.
PS5 has welcomed a list of great titles in recent months such as The Last of Us Part II Remastered or the most recent one, Tekken 8. Another one that is coming strong is Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, a game that will be released at the end of this month along with this new update.
As we mentioned at the beginning of the piece, a large part of the patch is focused on the DualSense. Through the official PlayStation blog, the company has announced the two main updates that the controller will receive:
- Speaker improvements: The DualSense speakers can now play sounds at a higher volume.
- Improved noise cancellation: Thanks to a new machine learning model based on artificial intelligence, the built-in microphones of the DualSense will not pick up background noise (button presses, game sounds, etc).
Due to this update, it is likely that your controller will play sounds much louder than you were used to. If you find it annoying, don’t worry because you will be able to adjust the volume from the control center.
The patch also comes with improvements for the Screen Sharing mode, aiming to enhance the interaction between viewer and player. Lastly, users will be able to adjust the brightness of the PS5 power indicator. For now, the update will only be available for certain selected participants.
