In this context, Michelle (played by Millie Bobby Brown), an orphaned teenager, embarks on a journey through the southwestern United States with a robot named Cosmo. During her journey, the protagonist discovers that her brother, whom she believed to be dead, is alive and controls Cosmo, unleashing a series of unexpected events.

The script is handled by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the minds behind hits like Avengers: Endgame, ensuring a narrative full of twists and action. Although the story closely follows the plot of the original comic, Netflix has made some modifications to give it a broader focus, exploring themes such as artificial intelligence, the war between humans and machines, and the nature of humanity in a world devastated by technology.
