If there has been one superhero who has captivated us recently, it’s Saitama. Perhaps he isn’t the most glamorous or self-aware, and truth be told, he doesn’t have a single hair on his head, making us wonder if that reflects what’s inside him. But the truth is, he’s a character that is easy to love. That’s why it’s no surprise that One Punch Man is one of those anime series that is extremely popular in Japan and around the world. So much so that new games keep coming out from time to time, hoping to capture the essence of the character this time around.

That’s the case with the new game from Crunchyroll Games, developed by Perfect World, the company behind Tower of Fantasy and the Persona 5 spin-off for PC and mobile devices, The Phantom X. It’s called One Punch Man World. It’s an online 3D action game that will feature various unlockable characters and leveling up mechanics. Players will have the opportunity to encounter other heroes from the Hero Association and can team up with friends to take on missions. According to Perfect World, the game will recreate iconic moments from the anime’s first season and will heavily focus on city exploration and combat, emphasizing combos, perfect evasions, and finishing blows.

For those unfamiliar, One Punch Man tells the story of a world where superheroes and monstrous threats exist for real. In this context, a man named Saitama trained so hard that he achieved two things: the ability to defeat any opponent with a single punch and losing all his hair in the process. This has caused him a double trauma – becoming an easily forgettable character and, moreover, feeling incredibly bored as he can’t find a worthy opponent.

One Punch Man: World is set to be released this year on PC, iOS, and Android. While we don’t have a specific release date yet, you can already register to be among the first to dive into the dangerous City-Z.
