Dragon Ball Daima, the new anime from the saga created by Akira Toriyama, released its trailer a few months ago and was met with a wave of criticism as soon as it came out. The main criticism was that, instead of continuing the Dragon Ball Super anime, Toei Animation decided to make a new special series… with all the characters being children. This move was launched to celebrate the franchise’s anniversary, but it left manga fans orphaned.
In addition, now it seems that it has been delayed, which has once again angered the fans. The premiere of Dragon Ball Daima was scheduled for autumn 2024, but Toei has remained silent since its announcement, and now an official Toei Animation calendar for 2025 has been released… in which Goku stars on a page. This has generated rumors about the possible delay of the series, although the company has not announced anything yet.
Little Goku is back
Obviously, it could be that they simply wanted to give the series a spot in the calendar, something they have also done with others like One Piece or Doremi. However, the silence from Toei and the rumors generated do not help this situation. We will see what happens, but it certainly doesn’t seem like the studio’s move is going to work out as well as they hope.
Dragon Ball Daima is marketed as a grand action adventure in an unknown and mysterious place for the protagonists of Dragon Ball. Although Goku will be the main character, it will be a more ensemble series than Super, and it tells how, after a conspiracy, everyone is turned into children. This time, to set things right, everyone plans to head to a new world and thus end their curse. A plot similar to that of Dragon Ball GT but with a new perspective.
