M. Night Shyamalan is one of the most recognized directors of the 21st century, and despite having as many gems as disasters in his career, he is so profitable that every movie he directs becomes an automatic success. His films always surprise in terms of theme, plot twists, and cast, and his next one promises to repeat this formula.

The specific film is called Trap, its release is scheduled for this 2024 and it is defined as a psychological thriller that, from what it seems, will resemble other Shyamalan films such as The Sixth Sense, Knock at the Cabin, Time, Glass or Split. But the most curious thing is who is the protagonist of the film; an actor that we hadn’t seen for a while but who in 2023 has returned to the top of the industry.

A new opportunity for Josh Hartnett

The actor in question is Josh Hartnett. The protagonist of Pearl Harbor had been away from the Hollywood spotlight for years, and yet he made a triumphant return last summer with a very interesting character in Oppenheimer; that of scientist Ernest Lawrence. It seems that this comeback was not in vain, and it was a statement of intent for what was to come. Thus, after working alongside Christopher Nolan, he jumps to a new leading role with Shyamalan.

The curious thing is that 2023 not only brought a comeback with Oppenheimer for Harnett. We could also see him in Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre by Guy Ritchie, in Die Hart, and in season 6 of Black Mirror. In this way, it seems that he has made a big comeback and is willing to give it his all to become once again one of the hottest actors in Hollywood.
