That Nintendo is going to release a Nintendo Switch 2 sooner rather than later is a reality. We do not know if it will be called that way or will be called something else, but the Japanese company has its next console cooking in the oven is a reality for one reason: Switch is already on its way to 7 years, a pretty high time in the market no matter how well it sells. In other words: it’s about time for its new sister to arrive.

According to Eurogamer, The Verge and a few other media outlets, Nintendo has been showing off the successor to Nintendo Switch during the last Gamescom. The European video game fair brought together tens of thousands of people in its huge pavilions, among which there was also an area dedicated to business. In this part and in the Nintendo booth in particular, the Japanese would have shown the console to a select group of developers.

The idea is that developers could observe the potential and new features of this Nintendo Switch 2. For this, the video game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was used as a technical demo, always with an improved version of the already famous game of Link and company.

When is Nintendo Switch 2 coming out?

Although the release date of Nintendo’s next console is as unknown as the announcement itself, what is already circulating among these developers is a possible date.

Everything points to 2024 as the year chosen for Nintendo to release its new hardware. Some voices say May 2024, while others point to the end of the year. Whichever is the case, it’s time to wait for Nintendo to make its next announcement.
