One Piece has reached a new level in 2023. Eiichiro Oda’s creation was already the best-selling manga of recent years, but now it has also managed to conquer a larger audience thanks to its Netflix live action, and its numbers in the anime have also clearly increased. Now, although it already has a new anime on the way that will readapt the series for a new audience, the original series has reached a new arc.

After everything that happened with Kaido, the most powerful villain the Straw Hat crew has ever faced in their entire history, Luffy and company are heading towards a new island. But what can we expect in this new narrative arc? We, who have already read the manga, can give you a little preview of what’s to come. However, be aware that we might include a few spoilers.

One of the most surprising arcs in anime

In this new arc, the identity of Vegapunk is finally revealed. The scientist well known in the world of One Piece is revealed to be an old man who has passed on his knowledge to six different beings, each with their own personality and abilities. Vegapunk is the leader, so to speak, of Egghead Island, the place where the Mugiwara arrive, but suddenly something will happen: the government will appear to eliminate him, and Luffy will have to decide whether to side with him.

But Vegapunk is not the only discovery of this arc. In the new One Piece saga, Jewelry Bonney also appears, one of the Supernovas. We discover that she is Bartholomew Kuma’s daughter, and in this arc we also discover her exciting story. Warning: it is very, very tearful.

Undoubtedly, Egghead is an arc full of surprises, despite being somewhat short. We will discover new things about the World Government, we will see what happened to Rob Lucci and the CP9 (now CP0) and much more. An arc that seems like a transition but quickly leads us to the end of the series.
