PlayStation 5 celebrated its third anniversary on November 12, which is no small feat. Pandemics and stock issues aside, the interest in Sony’s console remains high and its sales figures prove it (over 46 million consoles sold worldwide). After the release of the PS5 Slim, all eyes are now on the PS5 Pro.

The truth is that we have been hearing rumors about it for months and we even know its codename, “Project Trinity“. Now, a well-known insider, Jeff Grubb, has claimed that PS5 Pro is “practically real”. In fact, he has even dared to give a release date: September 2024. This was revealed in the latest episode of Game Mess Decides where Grubb explains all of this.

Grubb has also endorsed an alleged list of specifications that reveals all the improvements that the PS5 Pro would receive. According to the leak, “Project Trinity” aims to become the “culmination” of the following technologies: fast storage, accelerated ray tracing, and upscaling.

The list also points out that one of the main focuses of the PS5 Pro will undoubtedly be accelerated ray-tracing. The console will be capable of reproducing in high resolution (4K) along with a stable and smooth framerate (over 30 FPS at all times).

This will be possible thanks to a solution devised by Sony, which would allow obtaining high-definition images enhanced by AI and with quite high frame rates. A technology that, in turn, is very similar to NVIDIA’s DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling).

However, Sony has not yet confirmed that the PS5 Pro is in development. Despite the many indications that the console exists, we will have to wait for the official confirmation from the Japanese company.
