Persona fans are in luck: Persona 3 Reload, the remake of the title that originally came out for the PlayStation 2 console, now has a release date. The highly anticipated remake was officially announced a couple of months ago at Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest 2023 (after leaking just a day before), but its release date was unknown.

This week, during Gamescom 2023, SEGA announced the release date of Persona 3 Reload in a Twitter post. The remake of this ATLUS title has been eagerly anticipated by the Persona fanbase, as well as fans of Shin Megami Tensei, from which this series originated.

But we won’t have to wait long: Persona 3 Reload will be released on February 2, 2024. The game can already be pre-ordered through the official ATLUS store, and it will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Additionally, it has been confirmed that it will be available on Xbox Game Pass on its release day.

Many doors opened thanks to Persona 5 Royal

After being a niche series that had never been translated into Spanish, the Persona series has taken center stage with a legion of fans eagerly awaiting the previous installments of the Persona saga to receive a “facelift” that would adapt their visuals and gameplay to modern times.

Persona 3 Reload is the first major Persona title released after the overwhelming success of Persona 5 Royal, the latest numbered installment in the series. Released in late 2019, Persona 5 Royal captured the hearts of thousands of fans around the world, at a time when we were confined to our homes due to the coronavirus.

The tremendous popularity of Persona 5 Royal also led to the creation of a new IP by ATLUS: Metaphor Re Fantazio. The new title is also announced for 2024, but the exact date is still unknown (most likely it will be released in the second half of the year at the earliest).
