The wait to get our hands on the new Apple Vision Pro seems to be coming to an end as Apple stores are finalizing preparations for its launch. According to Mark Gurman, the device is already being shipped in small quantities to different warehouses in the United States, suggesting that direct distribution to Apple stores will begin soon. Although the official release date has not yet been announced, there is expected to be enough stock in the country for a launch in February.

End of February

In the latest edition of its newsletter, Gurman writes that Apple could be planning to make the Vision Pro announcement “in the next week or so”, possibly to capture attention at CES, which starts in Las Vegas tomorrow, January 9th.

A strategic move that, as in other occasions, uses the calendar to capture media attention. This is evident from Gurman’s report that on January 21, all Apple stores in the United States will hold an unusual three-hour meeting for all employees. As far as we know, the explanation of the sales procedure related to the device will be covered.

Following that, and the official announcement, we expect the additional training sessions to begin and the arrival of the new shelves for the placement of the Vision Pro in stores to take effect. Let’s remember that Apple’s sales strategy is still unclear. We don’t know if the Vision Pro will be available immediately for online reservation like the iPhones, for example. One possibility is that initially only the option of reserving an appointment at an Apple store will be offered for testing and purchasing the device.

Looking beyond the borders of the US, Gurman believes that the launch of the Vision Pro in other countries will not be “much later” than its launch in the United States. Apple is rumored to be considering the United Kingdom, Canada, and China as the next markets to receive the product. A global expansion that, while we can already record 3D videos on the iPhone to watch them on the Vision Pro, shows Apple’s confidence in the universal appeal of a product that is set to mark a new chapter in augmented and virtual reality technology.
