Anyone who regularly works on a Windows PC knows how useful the Snipping Tool can be for certain tasks, even though it also has some limitations. That’s why Windows is preparing significant improvements that are already being tested by users in the Canary version of Windows Insiders.

This update will bring two major innovations, both of which are highly useful. One will allow for text transcription through captures thanks to its reading capability, and the other will enable us to sync the captures we make on our smartphone with the clipboard on our PC, two changes that represent significant advances in terms of productivity.

Snipping Tool takes a new leap

As we’ve been saying, the Snipping Tool is one of the most useful free tools that Windows 11 offers because a good screen capture can come in handy in many situations. But, in addition, if we add the new features that are being prepared in the Canary version, the leap in quality of the Snipping Tool is going to be more than evident.

Furthermore, these two improvements don’t come alone. To carry out this content synchronization with smartphones, the Phone Link app will receive a new update to enable this screenshot synchronization, something that can be especially useful for those who work across multiple systems.

We’ll be able to synchronize our PC and mobile through screenshots so that they can be easily moved between devices.

Improvements for the Photos app

Photos, the Windows app for viewing images, will also receive improvements in Windows 11. Just like the Snipping Tool improvements, users in the Canary version of Windows Insiders are enjoying a new feature that allows them to blur the background of photos, giving more prominence to what is in the foreground of the picture. Additionally, they have also announced support for Samsung and Google.

Microsoft is committed to constantly improving its offerings for users. That’s why every few days, we learn about new developments regarding the company’s ideas to continue providing useful services for the community. They even continue to support Windows 10, despite it no longer being the company’s primary operating system for more than two years.
