For millions of players, specifically around 10 million, the adventure of Starfield has intrigued them enough to don the astronaut suit and venture out to conquer the stars. Undoubtedly, one of Bethesda and Xbox’s major successes.

But that doesn’t mean Starfield is all sunshine and beauty. There are many mechanics that are quite shoddy, nonsensical, and poorly developed. For instance, the monotonous zero-gravity puzzles in Starfield.

And fortunately for you, the player, these puzzles no longer exist, at least on PC, thanks to a modder who has removed them from the game.

What are the power temples, and why are they so shoddy?

“A few hours into the main mission of Starfield, you will encounter a series of temples (scattered throughout the explorable galaxy) that grant you special powers and rewards upon completion.

It’s these powers that can truly transform Starfield’s combat, and it’s always fun to see what each one holds since having them all allows you to tackle every fight in the best way possible.

The problem is that, to complete the temples, players have to go through a pointless zero-gravity segment where they fly through bright rings. And it’s always the same layout; there are no additional obstacles to add challenge, just the same series of rings across the game’s 24 temples.”

Now, a modder named johndoebowler has had enough and uploaded the ‘No More Temple Puzzles‘ mod to the NexusMods page for Starfield. How does it work? ‘Complete the temple puzzles as soon as you enter them,’ says the mod’s description. ‘No other action required; you don’t have to collect any orbs. Just walk into the ring.’

If you think this is cheating or playing in a way that wasn’t intended, remember Skyrim. In that game, players could absorb Word Walls scattered throughout the world, and you just had to stand in front of them to learn the Word.

Yes, usually you had to complete a dungeon first, but that’s at least more interesting than flying through rings, Superman-style.

This is by no means the first essential mod players have created for Starfield. There are mods for more realistic movement speed, one that re-enables achievements after installing mods, and many more.
