Jim Ryan will no longer be the CEO of PlayStation. We learned this news some time ago as it’s not an immediate decision but requires a lengthy process that will culminate on March 31, 2024. However, even though on paper he still holds the title of CEO of the gaming division, in reality, he’s already living like that teacher on the brink of retirement who goes to class to enjoy the students.
On this occasion, they threw a farewell party for good ol’ Ryan after over three decades at Sony. During this celebration, the still CEO enjoyed the company of high-profile individuals from the Japanese company and also received some gifts. And what gifts they were, right?
One of the things Jim Ryan received was a customized PlayStation 5 that looks like a PlayStation 1. It’s a marvel, we truly mean it. In fact, we’re surprised that Sony doesn’t want to sell this in the market because it would sell like hotcakes. The console in question bears the colors of the original PlayStation released in the market, but the most incredible part is the controller.
Along with having the same color scheme and even button design, the charging cable resembles one from the original PlayStation. Thus, the USB end that connects to the console takes the shape of the connector from the PS1 controller. It’s a beauty.
As an interesting note, during this celebration party, cookies with Jim Ryan’s face were also handed out. They had the text “Thank you, Jim!” written on them.
