There is a lot of speculation on the internet about when the next Nintendo console will be released. This Switch 2 is known to be in development and everything points to it being released this year, but no one knows anything about it. Neither its features nor its release date. However, yesterday the approximate release date may have been leaked. Except that, in the end, it turned out to be a company shamelessly seeking free publicity.
The company Altec Lansing has released a press release announcing that it will relaunch its range of GameShark products as a series of AI-powered products, named AI Shark. But that wasn’t the relevant news. The relevant news is that they announced that this launch would take place during the month of September to coincide with the release date of Nintendo Switch 2.
This raised all the alarms on the Internet, because no one knows the release date of the successor to the Nintendo Switch. Something that led several journalists to ask questions. This led a representative from AI Shark to comment to journalist Jason Schreier that the release date of Nintendo Switch 2 was nothing more than mere speculation on his part. Therefore, the basis that the console will be released in September is no better than any other rumor that can be found on the Internet.
Although GameShark may seem like an unfamiliar name, it actually isn’t. This was the name of the accessories that allowed modifying video games to introduce different cheats in the games. Especially popular on Game Boy and Nintendo DS, but also on PlayStation, it had its peak during the 90s and lost its popularity in the second half of the 00s.
With this we want to emphasize that if someone knows the exact release date of the successor to Nintendo Switch, it is not AI Shark. Nintendo has a strongly anti-cheat policy and has always actively fought against GameShark, which makes it unlikely that they will communicate confidential information that, as far as we know, no one else has. That is why, although curiosity may get the best of us, we will have to keep waiting to know more about the next Nintendo console, whether it’s Switch 2 or something else.
