TikTok could be about to launch a new app dedicated to photography that it has been working on for some time. With the name of “TikTok Notes”, some users are already being informed that, when uploading photos to TikTok, these will also be visible in the new photo app.
“TikTok Notes, a new app for photo posts, will be available soon,” says the title posted by Threads user @cmcalgary. “Your current and future photo posts on TikTok will be displayed in TikTok Notes. If you prefer not to display your photo posts on TikTok Notes, deactivate this option now.”
TikTok has been experimenting with a photo app for some time. Last month, we reported that in the internal code of the TikTok app there were several references to “TikTok Photos“, the provisional name that this version of Instagram made by TikTok would have had.
TikTok has also been encouraging users to post static images on the app. In 2022, the company added a “photo mode” that allows users to share still images on their streams, something that it has also been promoting through pop-up alerts on TikTok.
