As we told you yesterday, Wizards of the Coast will release on April 19th their new collection of Magic: The Gathering, named Outlaws of Thundercross. Set in a plane based on the tropes of the Wild West, it is a world full of villains, crimes, deserts, and strange creatures never seen before. And thanks to Wizards of the Coast, we can also show you something never seen before. Two creature cards from Outlaws of Thundercross.

The first one, an uncommon card, is called Aloe Alchemist. A plant wizard with a converted mana cost of one colorless mana and one green mana, it’s a 3/2 with trample that, in addition to having six arms and being a cactus, has an incredible sense of fashion. Even more important than that, it’s a card with Embalm with a cost of one colorless mana and one green mana. That means you can cast it for its embalm cost, exile it, and play it for free on another turn.

Now, why would you play it for its Trample cost if it costs the same without Trample and you can already have this tremendous cactus? Because when the Aloe Alchemist is Trampled and sent into exile from your hand, it gives +3/+2 and trample to another creature until end of turn. Making it an extremely versatile card in aggressive decks, whether they are mono green or red-green decks, they will want to make use of this fresh-chested alchemist.

The second card we have is a rare card, also a creature, and what a creature. Named Bonny Pall, the Lumberjack, it is a reference to Paul Bunyan, a folk giant from America and Canada known for having a blue ox and dedicating himself to field work with a cheerful attitude. It seems that Bonny Tall is not very different because it is a 6/5 with Reach, with a converted cost of three colorless mana, one green mana, and two blue mana. The peculiarity is that when it enters the battlefield, it creates a legendary blue Ox creature named Beau, whose power and toughness are equal to the number of lands you control.

Although it may not seem very impressive, every time one of your creatures attacks while Bonny is on the battlefield, you draw a card and then you can put a land card from your hand or graveyard onto the battlefield. Something that helps Beau grow and it wouldn’t be surprising if it ends up shaping absurd strategies, especially due to the ease of populating the battlefield with green-colored lands.

Although there are still many more cards to be presented, these are ours and don’t doubt that we will play them. Because if they give us a cactus alchemist, a version of Paul Bunyan and a giant blue ox, how can we even think that the rest of the collection won’t be incredible.
