All insiders know that their actions are not greeted with a smile by companies. Revealing their secrets ahead of time is not something that studios celebrate, so it shouldn’t surprise us that they often disappear, or in fact, are made to disappear. For instance, by getting banned from social media.

A few days ago, we shared some leaks from the user RockstarGTAVI on the platform formerly known as Twitter. However, if you go to their profile now, you’ll quickly notice that not only does this account no longer exist, it has been suspended.

If we had doubts about whether these leaks were true or not, this clarifies most of our doubts. It’s still possible that they were banned for the misuse of a registered trademark, but many other accounts do the same, posting supposedly leaked content, and they aren’t suspended. That’s why it’s safe to assume that, in this case, the leaks made by RockstarGTAVI were legitimate. And therefore, what we saw almost a year ago, and which resurfaced now, was indeed a very early version of the game.

With no known release date, but with expectations set for the fiscal year 2024 —which runs from April 2024 to March 2025— GTA6 should come out on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S if all goes as expected.
