That the story of The Legend of Zelda is not easy to interpret is no surprise. Each game has its own timeline, which in turn is joined by other conditions that cause, with all the logic in the world, that either you are very deep into the series or maybe you don’t know anything. And here we are to shed some light -or at least try to- on the characters, specifically, on who Ganondorf is in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

To understand who Ganondorf is, it is first necessary to know who Ganon is. Behind Ganon hides the main enemy of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. To make it easy to understand, this is the “monster form” of Ganondorf, who in turn is the “human form”. In this way, Ganon and Ganondorf are essentially the same, just with a different appearance. Both are the King of Evil, the Lord of Darkness, the reincarnation of the Demon King. They can be called by many names throughout the saga, but they all all allude to the same thing: he is the villain of the series.

In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Ganon appears more than ever in his monstrous form, as that evil that emerges from Ganondorf’s inert body. In fact, as a curiosity, for many years players have imagined what the villain’s human form would be like, something we finally discovered thanks to the trailers shown in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

In this sense, everything points to the fact that in this new adventure we will have a stronger villain than ever. After all, he didn’t leave at any time, he was just represented in a different form. Now, on the other hand, he really appears in all his splendor. In addition, and as a curiosity, Ganondorf has not made an appearance in the saga since The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, that is, almost two decades ago.
