Upward is an ideal dating platform for Christian singles as it’s specifically made for them to easily establish a meaningful relationship. When this android app is in development, it takes into consideration the diverse identities, denominations, and levels of faith that the Christian community is composed of. Thus, regardless if you're a Catholic, Evangelical, Lutheran, Methodist, Pentecostal, Non-denominational, or anything and everything in between, you are accepted into its service.
To start looking for a Christian user that will match your preferences, you’ll need to set up your profile first. You’ll then need to specify your preferences. Just like other dating apps like Tinder, Bumble, Grindr, etc., your swipe will determine your interest with a certain user. If you like someone, slide right and if not, just slide left to pass. Users near your area will be suggested as matches.
If you happen to have a mutual connection with a user, you can know them more through chat. However, this app is filled with issues that need to be addressed. For instance, when you first launch it, the cards may not load even when location is turned on. Furthermore, it doesn't accurately filter age or distance. There are chances that you'll get suggested matches that are out of your league.
Great concept, but requires improvement
The entire idea and aim of Upward: Christian Dating is marvelous especially for single Christian men and women that are interested in meeting a person that has shared beliefs and values as them. However, unfortunately, the application is full of bugs that require to be fixed. It would have been a better alternative to the Christian Mingle app if not for the issues it showcases.
