When you're a journalist, you can't always have a tape recorder with you. That's why I like this app so much. It's on my phone, so I can just whip it out whenever I need it. The sound quality is pretty ok, although you might need to point the phone at the other person for maximum quality. I also like how the app organizes my files. More

It seems to be a very well put together application for live sound recording, and it seems very easy to export out of the application to share via things like dropbox, whatsapp and email. It can record when the screen is locked and display is off which is handy for not draining the battery. More

by Paul Medina
This used to be a pretty decent app, and worth paying for the upgrade. However, the most recent update drastically lowered the output quality. I'm hoping this is just a bug for this release, because the output file is so poor quality that I'd need to consider another app if this isn't fixed. More

by Frank Jenkins
Evernote is good way to stay organized, as it provides high-quality diagramming features. I also appreciate that it has multiple levels or tiers of pricing - the free version does not really feel gimped or limited at all. There's really no downside to at least trying it. I don't know if I'd use it to take notes on everything, but it would be suitable for certain kinds of note-taking, for sure. More

by Zachary Duncan
What makes this app better than just opening your phone and taking a video and then cropping it, is that its a professional video editor. It separates the audio and the video and allows you to edit everything separately. Once you are done with your on-the-go reporting, you can export and then send the link to anyone for download. That is extremely useful when it comes to sharing as you dont have to send the file itself to each recipient. More

Honestly a fantastic app. There isn't really much to take away from it negatively and in retrospect few seem to do this task as well. I have my little nitpicks which do not allow me to go 5/5, but I'd say if on its list it does what you require, then get it without a doubt. More
