Adobe continues to integrate generative artificial intelligence technology into its programs. Now, the company is working on a new AI-powered video generative model for Firefly. Thanks to this, Adobe Premiere Pro will soon debut some very interesting new tools.

These new Firefly tools will allow Premiere Pro users to generate video and add or remove objects from any scene through prompts (written descriptions). Adobe has released a demo video to showcase what their new video model is capable of doing currently.

The video shows a sneak peek of how the integration of other third-party models like Runway, Pika Labs, or Sora from OpenAI would work. However, everything shown is proposals of how these tools could look like within Premiere “in the future“.

To distinguish between real recordings and generated content, the clips can be marked with the new symbol created by Adobe. This logo has also been adopted by other companies like Microsoft and in the near future, it will help users clearly distinguish what is real and what is not.

Adobe’s proposal to integrate AI models from other companies into Premiere Pro is a quite logical move. The incredible capabilities of models like Sora have made many people amazed by their exaggerated realism. Furthermore, it would serve to make these tools more accessible to professionals and eliminate the need to switch between different programs to perform the same task.

At the moment, Adobe has not confirmed any dates or beta releases, but we do know that it will be released at some point in 2024.
