Few phenomena can compare to artificial intelligence in terms of impact in 2023. Since the beginning of the year, options such as ChatGPT, Midjourney or DALL-E have become an indispensable tool in the daily lives of many users. Thanks to them, they have managed to carry out works as curious as a comic made with artificial intelligence and even several video games that will participate in a contest with thousands of euros at stake. And, in fact, it is the latter field that interests us since a user has used an AI to recreate Niko Bellic, the protagonist of the iconic GTA IV.
Although it had several controversies at the time it was released, such as criticism of its physics or the story as crude as realistic that starred the “good” Bellic, the truth is that time has been good and has been fair with this installment. More than a decade later and still with little news of GTA VI, users fondly remember the adventures of Bellic in Liberty City, a city inspired by New York that gave him experiences that marked his life. Thus, to pay tribute to the Slav, a user used an AI to recreate a hypothetical real version of him. However, as could be seen in his Reddit post, the result is far from the original.
For some reason, the AI recreated Niko Bellic is a far cry from the original version. However, it doesn’t take much digging to find out the reason for this difference: the light in Bellic’s photograph. With side lighting, the artificial intelligence could not interpret the character’s features well, which is why it produced a realistic version that is far from what everyone would have imagined. Therefore, it is important to know how to use these tools to achieve convincing results, a situation that the user who wanted to imagine the realistic version of the characters in GTA: San Andreas did achieve.
