The end of Attack on Titan feels distant now, at least when it comes to the manga. While it’s true that the anime is still heading towards its conclusion, the manga wrapped up its story two and a half years ago. All of this was not without tremendous controversy. With heightened nationalism, problematic references to the Third Reich, and certain decisions about how its characters were portrayed, the ending was not well-received. However, after the anime concludes, the manga will have a new ending.

Attack on Titan will have a new volume published in 2024. This volume 35 will be released on April 30, 2024, in Japan, five months after the anime finale airs on November 4. Although we don’t know its content yet, we do have some details.

This manga will be titled Bad Boys and will be included inside the first official art book of the manga, called The Fly. While the manga will consist of only 18 pages, Isayama himself has stated that he is very excited about the culmination of his manga and the possibility of returning to it. He is currently working on the script for this manga, which was not planned until now.

Unsurprisingly, this has led to a certain division among fans. While some are simply happy to have a new chapter of the manga, others have requested, with varying degrees of intensity, that it represents a significant change from Attack on Titan’s previous ending. Although nothing has been specified about the content of this manga, not even whether it will alter the ending of Attack on Titan in any way, franchise fans should be pleased to have a surprise final chapter to read. Even if it’s nearly three years after the original manga concluded.
