The Simpsons is a messianic series with an unparalleled trajectory. Since 1989, when Matt Groening got the green light to carry out his fiction about a yellow and unstructured family, the adventures of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie have not stopped advancing. However, not all seasons have been equally good.

With more than 30 seasons and several years on the air thanks to Fox, the series has gone through many ups and downs. Everyone seems to agree that it has had almost two decades of somewhat weak seasons, while the most outstanding ones are from 4 to 9.

After destroying both his and Marge’s car, Homer decides to buy a snowplow and start a business. It is so successful that Barney decides to start his own rival company and becomes Springfield’s new favorite snowplow.

18 – Treehouse of Horror IV (5×05)

Bart tells three horror stories based on paintings: in the first, Homer sells his soul to the devil for a donut, in the second Bart discovers that there is a Gremlin destroying him and in the third, the Simpsons discover that Burns is a vampire.

17 – Deep Space Homer (5×15)

In the previous episode, Mr. Burns is shot by an unknown assailant. Waylon Smithers believes he may have been the culprit while drunk, but it is soon discovered that he is innocent, so the police question several suspects and eventually discover Simpson DNA on Burns’ suit. Mr. Burns wakes up and is only able to say “Homer Simpson”.

11 – The Last Exit to Springfield (4×17)

Homer becomes the new leader of the Nuclear Power Plant union but all talks fail because he doesn’t take Burns’ hints. The workers declare a strike and Burns decides to turn off the electricity to the whole town.

10 – Homer the Great (6×12)

Homer joins the Quarrymen, a secret organization. One day he smashes the sacred scroll and is expelled, but when the members discover that he has a birthmark on his body, they believe he is the chosen one to be the head of the group.

9 – King-Size Homer (7×07)

To earn disability and be able to work from home, Homer has to weigh more than 130 kilos, so he starts a fat diet. When he succeeds, he realizes that being so fat doesn’t turn out to be as good as he thought.

8 – The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson (9×01)

The Simpsons travel to New York to pick up their car, which was abandoned there by Barney on a drunken night out. Parked in front of the World Trade Center and plagued with tickets, Homer will do his best to get his car out of there.

The citizens decide to buy a new train after receiving three million dollars for a fine from Mr. Burns. Although Homer is the conductor, Marge is not happy with the new train and decides to investigate the company.

5 – Cape Fear (5×02)

Sideshow Bob is released from prison and Bart is placed in the Witness Relocation Program. The entire Simpson family moves to the Lake of Terror but Sideshow follows them there to get revenge on Bart.

Halloween special divided into three parts: in the first, they parody the movie The Shining and Homer tries to kill his family; in the second, Homer creates a time machine. And in the third, the teachers decide to eat the students.
