Among the most anticipated horror games is a remake. Silent Hill 2 is a game everyone is eagerly awaiting, but there doesn’t seem to be any information available. Since its announcement in October 2022, there hasn’t been any new information about this remake of Konami’s classic being developed by Bloober Team. At least, not until now, when they’ve decided to break their silence.
The development studio behind this remake, Bloober Team, has released a statement to clarify that the progress of the Silent Hill 2 remake is proceeding exactly as they had hoped. The Polish developer, responsible for beloved titles like Layers of Fear and Observer, as well as titles not as well-received like The Medium and Blair Witch, has expressed an understanding that many gamers are eagerly awaiting news about this title, but the game is not yet ready.
Furthermore, they wanted to emphasize the responsibilities of each party involved. They handle the development, while the license remains with Konami. This means that when there is information to share, it will be Konami, as the publisher, who will share it when the time comes. Meanwhile, what Bloober Team has promised is that “the wait will be worth it.”
This concern has arisen because of the time that has passed since the last news update, causing many players to express their worries about the game’s future. Especially considering that one of the projects announced during the conference where Silent Hill 2 was announced, Silent Hill: Ascension, didn’t turn out particularly well.
What we know for sure is that Silent Hill 2 is in development for PC and PlayStation 5, with it being a timed exclusive for this console for a year. However, it still doesn’t have a release date.
