Hipstamatic, one of the first photo filtering apps on the iPhone, is now bring filters to video with Cinamatic. The app will compete with and compliments Instagram and Vine for recording and sharing short videos. Users will have a fifteen second time limit and can apply various stylized filters. Here’s an example.

brightcove.createExperiences();

After you’re done shooting your video, you can share to Instagram, Vine, and Facebook. This is smart as Hipstamatic knows these three social networks have the most users. Cinamatic will give you the tools to make your videos just a bit more creative than if you shot them directly within Vine or Instagram.

Line Vine and Instagram, your videos will be shot in a square format for a retro look. Touch and hold the record button the begin recording. Lifting your finger stops recording and lets you stitch multiple clips together.

The app itself costs $1.99 and you can buy additional filter packs with in-app purchases.
