CD Projekt Red has recently released patch 1.6 for Cyberpunk 2077, featuring a whole host of updates, new content, and features. The list is so extensive that your face will hurt from smiling so much while reading through it. However, your joy may turn to tears when you learn that it’s the final update for gamers playing on old-generation consoles.
If you have a look a the Cyberpunk 2077 1.6 patch notes, also called Edgerunners Update, you’ll see just how much there’s to be excited about. The Night City Wire featured a video about the new update, showcasing some of the new content and fixes many players will be able to experience.
Sadly, this will be the last Cyberpunk 2077 update on former generation consoles, namely, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. These older systems just don’t have the hardware and specs to run more content in the game, especially some of the more advanced upcoming features. Any future patches and content will be for the current-gen consoles only.
It looks like Keanu Reeves might also be making a return with the new update. I have yet to play Cyberpunk 2077, but I guess I’ll wait until I finally upgrade my PlayStation to a PS5. The other option is simply to buy it for PC or wait for it to appear on Xbox Games Pass. I feel that it’s better to play such massive games on console, though.
It feels like only yesterday when we reported on Cyberpunk 2077 expansion leaks. The new Edgerunners update has so much content that it might as well be an expansion. I’m referring mostly to the new story missions and weapons, but there are loads of fixes too.
