Euphoria is one of the most successful series on HBO Max. The streaming platform found in the series starring Zendaya an ally to reach young audiences and tell stories of our time. However, the wait for the long-awaited third season of the series is becoming endless.

Despite HBO had hinted at how much time would pass between the second and third installment of the teenage drama, persistent delays in production have left the audience in a sea of uncertainty. In recent days, rumors of cancellation have gained strength due to the lack of news about the start of filming, which was expected to happen soon according to hints from Sydney Sweeney. HBO has come out to calm the waters, ensuring that there has simply been a delay in the production of the season.

Has Euphoria been canceled?

From what we know so far, the main cast of Euphoria has been temporarily released to pursue other projects during the break. Currently, several cast members have embarked on new projects, such as Sydney in the recently released Immaculate and Anyone But You, Zendaya in Dune: Part 2 and upcoming in Rivales; and Jacob Elordi in Priscilla and Saltburn.

The main reason for this delay seems to be that Sam Levinson, the creator, writer, and director of the series, has not yet finished the final scripts for this season 3. Rumors suggest that this is due to ongoing negotiations between Levinson and HBO regarding the future development of the characters. There is speculation about the possibility of a time jump to explore the lives of the protagonists after high school, which would be consistent considering the age of the actors. Additionally, Colman Domingo recently revealed in an interview for GQ that Levinson was interested in exploring the existential question of who we are in the present.

In short, we still know nothing about season 3 of Euphoria. There is no filming date, let alone a release date, and HBO doesn’t even have a clear direction for the series. However, it is not canceled… at least not for now.
