Now no game is ever finished. If twenty years ago games used to end, and one had to wait for a new installment or, occasionally, an expansion that added a reasonable amount of content, now we know that between battle passes, seasons, and DLCs, we’ll always have more than enough content for our favorite games. As long as they are successful. That’s why it shouldn’t surprise us that there are always news about novelties in the most popular games. Ultimately, their players always want more content.

That’s why it’s not surprising that, during the Opening Night Live of Gamescom 2023, the new season of Diablo 4 has been unveiled. Accompanied by a captivating story trailer, which looks spectacular, narrating the tale of the arrival of a vampire army at the gates of Sanctuary. This is the reason why we will have to muster our courage and learn how to deal with these vile creatures of the night.

Named the “Season of Blood,” it will arrive on October 17th for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Among the novelties we are aware of, in addition to its own questline, it will introduce five new bosses available in Diablo 4’s endgame, granting us vampiric abilities for our characters. Moreover, this expansion will encompass various quality-of-life improvements. These include better gem inventory management; the transfer of paragon points, skill points, potion charges, and obol capacity upgrades between seasons; and changes in the functionality of status effects.

Among the main characters in the story, we know that there will be a vampire hunter named Erys, but the narrative of this second expansion is still up in the air, apart from the four bloody hints that we are aware of. Therefore, we will still need to learn a bit more in order to fully enjoy all the details of this long descent into the night.
