This week, the most important video game fair in Europe is taking place. Gamescom has been keeping the flame of in-person conferences alive for years, while E3 has been bleeding out since the pandemic.
To the pride of the Germans, the fair has improved with each edition. And Gamescom 2023 seems like it could be one of the best of the last decade.
And since not everyone is clear about when it is, when it starts, where it takes place, and what games we’re going to see, our idea is to summarize everything you need to know in order to follow this anticipated conference.
Gamescom location and date
Gamescom will take place where it always does, in Cologne (Germany) at the end of August. This fair, as usual, remains in the same city and venue, as it will be held at Koelnmesse, a facility equipped to accommodate thousands of people and hundreds of booths.
The dates for Gamescom are from August 23rd to August 27th, 2023. And during the fair, we can expect announcements, game presentations, and many consoles and PCs set up throughout the venue for players and journalists to try out the new games.
Games to watch out for at Gamescom
This is the most important part of the entire conference, the games. At Gamescom, we should expect to see, because they are confirmed, all these video games:
- Lords of the Fallen
- Alan Wake 2
- Assassin’s Creed Mirage
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
- Black Myth Wukong
- Sonic Superstars
- Zenless Zone Zero
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty
As you can see, the opening night of the event is going to be a serious affair. With 10 confirmed great games and many more to come to surprise us. And the question is: Will we see the highly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong?
How to follow the German conference from home
This is the most important aspect. Following Gamescom is going to be, like every year, something free and very straightforward. On its YouTube and Twitch channels, the event will livestream its sessions, just like E3 does.
Here’s the link to an official YouTube channel where you can watch the conference through this very article, so we don’t get lost and end up accidentally watching last year’s broadcast.
Some of the links added in the article are part of affiliate campaigns and may represent benefits for Softonic.
