When Wordle was launched at the end of 2021, the success of this mini-game was overwhelming, to such an extent that The New York Times ended up acquiring it. Its virality in social networks pushed it to the top, and although it is not as popular now as it was back then, it does maintain a good market share. Now, the newspaper wants to go further with Digits, its new invention.
Behind this word hides the new mini-game created by the U.S. newspaper, which is dedicated to mathematics. Its operation is very intuitive, although like all puzzles it hides its little bit of headache: we have to reach the number shown on the screen by making a series of combinations. Obviously, we can not choose the numbers we want, but we have to do the additions, subtractions, multiplications or divisions only with the digits that appear on the screen. That’s it. There are five numbers ordered from least to most difficult and each one is solved independently.

It should be noted that the game is currently available in beta phase. Depending on the results obtained by The New York Times, especially in terms of user interest and feedback received, Digits will enter as a mini-game of the masthead or not. “If the response to the game is not what the team expects of it, the committee must decide whether to make some adjustments or simply bring development to an end,” they note.
Digits can be played from this link. We warn you: we have loved it and we have been very happy with the result.
