Few Netflix fictions have worked as well as Avatar: The Last Airbender. The live-action remake of the popular animated series has become one of the biggest hits on the platform this year, even renewing for a second and third season just a couple of weeks after its premiere.
However, not everything is as beautiful as it seems in this series. Albert Kim, showrunner of the first season and presumably of the following ones, has just left his position in the series, remaining only as an executive producer. The fault lies with Disney Plus, which has hired him to be the showrunner of another of the current star series: Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
A new showrunner change for the hit series
Christine Boylan and Jabbar Raisani will take over Albert Kim’s position, former executive producers who will serve as showrunners together. Interestingly, this is not the first time that this Netflix series changes captains. Before Albert Kim, the showrunners were going to be Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, creators of the original series, but they stepped down due to disagreements with Netflix.
