A recent photograph of Elon Musk’s gaming PC, located in the White House, has generated a mix of astonishment and criticism in the gaming community, which is always demanding regarding people’s computer components.
Shared by reporter Kate Conger from the New York Times, the image shows a computer with a compact MSI graphics card, possibly an RTX 4060 or 4070 model, connected to a 49-inch Samsung Odyssey G9 monitor with dual QHD resolution (5120 x 1440 pixels).
Despite Musk’s considerable wealth, his choice of hardware has raised questions about the suitability of his setup for handling complex tasks or demanding games. Especially when you have billions of dollars in the bank.

The machine seems insufficient for what a user of their level might require, especially considering that Nvidia has already released the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 (even though they have turned out to be really disastrous).
It is speculated that Musk might be using his PC in windowed mode, dedicating part of the screen to less demanding titles, such as Diablo IV or Path of Exile 2. This strategy, if confirmed, could help reduce the load on the GPU during gaming and optimize the overall system performance.
However, different reports suggest that it has also played more demanding titles like Cyberpunk 2077, raising questions about the balance of its setup and its graphical requirements.
Meanwhile, the attention towards this peculiar gaming setup suggests that even tech moguls face dilemmas similar to those of passionate gamers: Do specifications really matter if the gaming experience is satisfying? The answer is a complete mystery.
