When SkyShowtime landed in the middle of the world, one of the original series it could boast about was Halo. Based on one of the most famous video games in the world, the Paramount series wanted to bring an epic story to the small screen.

And after a first season that was very well received, Paramount+ has unveiled the official trailer for the second season of Halo, in which Pablo Schreiber returns as Master Chief John-117 leading a team of elite Spartans against the alien threat known as the Covenant.

The showrunner of the new season, David Wiener, replaces Steven Kane. And the new images show a lot of space action, although it seems a bit dark (at least, in this trailer).

This is what we know about Season 2 of Halo

Description of the second season: “After a shocking event on a desolate planet, John can’t shake the feeling that his war is about to change and risks everything to prove what no one else will believe: that the Covenant is preparing to attack humanity’s greatest stronghold. With the galaxy on the brink of abyss, John embarks on a journey to find the key to humanity’s salvation, or its extinction: the Halo.”

The new additions to the cast this season are Joseph Morgan (Vampire Diaries), Cristina Rodlo (No One Gets Out Alive) and Christina Bennington (Midsomer Murders).

As you well know, the series takes place in the universe that debuted in 2001 with the release of the first Halo game for Xbox and Microsoft, which later became a highly successful international franchise with one of the richest universes in the world of video games.

The first two episodes will premiere on Paramount+ (United States) and on SkyShowtime (rest of the world) on February 8th.
