In the early days of streaming, Amazon Prime Video emerged as a worthy competitor to Netflix – in fact, its numbers have surpassed Netflix’s in Spain. One of the factors that contributed to its success was the involvement of a fascinating figure in some of its best projects: Neil Gaiman. The author, who eventually launched Sandman on Netflix, brought two of his remarkable works to Amazon Prime: American Gods and Good Omens.
Good Omens, co-authored by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, is indeed a novel that was adapted into a first season, paying homage to the events in the book. However, the second season has just been released on Amazon Prime Video… and we must say it lives up to the standard set by the previous episodes.
A second season to match
In the first season of Good Omens, the demon Crowley (David Tennant) and the angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) formed a unique alliance to save humanity from its early destruction due to a war between angels and demons. Throughout the episodes, they battled an seemingly unstoppable threat and ultimately managed to succeed through unconventional methods.
But what happens in the second season? After the events of the original book, a new adventure awaits them. When the archangel Gabriel (Jon Hamm) appears naked and suffering from amnesia in London’s SoHo, it becomes clear that they are faced with a new mystery to unravel.

Throughout the second season, the past of Crowley and Aziraphale is intertwined with new events that once again turn the world of angels and demons in this series upside down. Undoubtedly, it is an intriguing continuation that departs enough from the previous season to feel fresh and new, while still retaining all the elements that made it one of the best series in the early days of Amazon Prime Video.
