Google Docs and Sheets are getting more powerful with add-ons. Google’s web-based productivity suite is catching up to the powerful features of Microsoft Office.
The add-ons for Docs and Sheets come from third-party developers like Avery and EasyBib. Avery’s extension allows you to merge labels to print for shipping and EasyBib makes citing sources easy.
To find add-ons, open up and document or spreadsheet and click on the Add-ons button at the top. Click Get add-ons and you’ll be taken to a page where you can browse all available add-ons. There are only a handful of add-ons at launch but there will be “lots more on the way,” writes Google Drive Product Manager Saurabh Gupta.
Most of the add-ons are free but developers can create paid add-ons as well.
